    Title: Search for the critical point and the onset of deconfinement
    Author: Blume, Christoph
    Subject: heavy-ions ; beam energy scans ; onset of deconfinement ; QCD critical point
    Description: A review of the current experimental situation on the search for a critical point in the QCD phase diagram and the onset of deconfinement is given. Ongoing (STAR, NA61), as well as previous (NA49) experiments are presented. Their main results up-to-now are summarized and their findings are put into a general context. The future experimental program (CBM at FAIR, MPD at NICA) is discussed as well.

    Description: A review of results of the energy scan program at the CERN-SPS by the NA49 experiment is given. Presented are observables related to the search for a critical point in the QCD phase diagram and for the onset of deconfinement. Furthermore, the ongoing experimental program of NA61 at the CRRN-SPS and the plans of the CBM experiment at FAIR are discussed.

    Title: J/ψ Measurements with the ALICE Experiment at the LHC
    Author: Blume Christoph
    Subject: Physics
    Description: We review recent results on J/ψ production measured by the ALICE collaboration at the LHC. For pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV yields and spectra of inclusive and prompt J/ψ, as well as results on their polarization and the charged particle multiplicity dependence of yields are presented. Measurements of the nuclear modification factor RAA of inclusive J/ψ at mid-(|y| 0.9) and forward-rapidities (2.5 y 4), covering the range to pt = 0, for centrality selected Pb-Pb collisions are discussed. Also, first results on the J/ψυ2 at forward-rapidities are shown.

    Title: Is there Life after Hadronization? An Experimental Overview
    Author: Blume, Christoph
    Subject: Nuclear Experiment
    Description: Recents experimental findings on the properties of the chemical and kinetic freeze-out are reviewed, including data from low energies (SPS) over RHIC, up to recent results from the LHC. We discuss whether chemical freeze-out coincides with hadronization or if there is evidence for a "life after hadronization" which might significantly change particle abundances. Title: Quarkonia measurements with alice
    Author: Kramer, Frederick; Blume, Christoph
    Subject: Physics;
    Description: ALICE is the dedicated heavy-ion physics experiment at LHC. It is designed to provide excellent means to study the quark-gluon plasma, a deconfined state of matter assumed to be created under extreme conditions of temperature and/or baryonic density. A very promising observable is the measurement of quarkonia, including all the J/, ' and states. We will review the capabilities of ALICE to measure quarkonia and it's associated physics program. Furthermore we will present the current status of the analysis techniques and the results which can be obtained with the data collected during the first year of running.

    Title: Recent results from the na49 experiment
    Author: Blume, Christoph
    Subject: Physics;
    Description: Recent results from the NA49 experiment at the CERN-SPS are discussed. These include new data on proton and (anti)-proton production at different beam energies, which allow us to study the energy dependence of stopping. Also, new data on the system size dependence of hyperon production at 40 A and 158 , on global polarization, on elliptic flow of strange particles and on high- nuclear suppression factors are presented.
