Title: REGULARITY AND NUMERICAL SOLUTION FOR THE EXACT CONTROL
    Author: Mauro Antonio Rincon
Subject: Wave Equation ; Exact Controllability Problem ; Finite Difference and Fourier Serie
Description: In this paper we study a Numerical Method based on Finite Difference to the Boundary Exact Controllability problem for the Wave Equation. We consider the one dimensional problem. A regularity result is pro ven in order to allow us to use the Finite Difference Method. Numerical results are shown and compared to the exact solution of some particular problems, computed by the Fourier Serie.

    Author: Mauro Antonio Fabiano
Subject: Sciologia ; Spazi ; Legami ; Social Sciences (General)

Title: O recordatório de 24 horas como instrumento na avaliação do consumo alimentar de cálcio, fósforo e vitamina D em crianças e adolescentes de baixa estatura The 24-hour recall for the assessment of dietary calcium, phosphorus and vitamin D intakes in stunted children and adolescents
Author: Aline Lopes Bueno; Mauro Antônio Czepielewski
Subject: Consumo de Alimentos ; Inquéritos Nutricionais ; Marcadores Biológicos ; Metabolismo ; Nutrição ; Food Consumption ; Nutrition Surveys ; Biological Markers ; Metabolism ; Nutrition ; Anatomy & Physiology ; Diet & Clinical Nutrition

Title: Atoxigenic Aspergillus flavus endemic to Italy for biocontrol of aflatoxins in maize
Author: Mauro, Antonio; Battilani, Paola; Cotty, Peter
Subject: Aflatoxin ; AFB reduction ; VCGs ; Competition ; Biocontrol ; Biopesticides
Description: Effective biological control of aflatoxin-producing Aspergillus flavus with atoxigenic members of that species requires suitable A. flavus well adapted to and resident in target agroecosystems. Eighteen atoxigenic isolates of A. flavus endemic in Italy were compared for ability to reduce aflatoxin contamination of maize in laboratory studies. Reduction in aflatoxin B 1 concentrations ranged from 61 to 90 % with the most effective five atoxigenics, belonging to five different vegetative compatibility groups, causing reductions similar to, or greater than, those achieved by an atoxigenic that is the active ingredient in a product registered in the USA for aflatoxin management. The atoxigenic isolates were effective against each of the six Italian aflatoxin-producers tested and both with equal proportions of toxigenic and atoxigenic isolates and when atoxigenic isolates were only inoculated at 25 % the concentration of toxigenic. Equal proportions provided the highest percent reduction in contamination, but at the 4:1 ratio atoxigenics were the most efficient. The identified atoxigenic isolates will be of value as active ingredients in biocontrol products for reduction of aflatoxins in maize produced on the Italian Peninsula.

Description: Byline: Fabio Carelli (1), Francesco Antonio Gianturco (1,2), Jan Franz (3), Mauro Satta (4) Abstract: Abstract Electron and positron scattering processes in the gas-phase are analysed for uracil and pyrimidine molecules using a multichannel quantum approach at energies close to threshold. The special effects on the scattering dynamics induced by the large dipole moments in both molecules on the spatial features of the continuum leptonic wavefunctions are here linked to the possible bound states of the Rydberg-like molecular anions or 'positroned' molecules which could be reached via further couplings with molecular internal degrees of freedom.
