Author: Sanz-Hernando, Clara; Cabrera, Ana; Baptista, Carla
    Subject: Spain ; Censorship ; Propaganda ; Newspapers ; Content Analysis ; Censorship ; Content Analysis ; Newspapers ; Politics ; Censorship ; Newspapers ; Politics ; Content Analysis

Subject: Spain ; Mexico ; Civil War ; Combatants ; Historical Analysis ; Security Services ; Spanish ; War
Description: For most researchers this share has gone unnoticed by focusing on the presence of Mexican fighters enrolled in the Republican ranks. To argue this work we have obtained relevant information in several files Mexico, Spain and Portugal and profuse research literature. Although there were few who served in the national ranks this contribution was a real headache to Spanish diplomatic authorities and security services of this American country. Therefore, this work not only aims to identify as many of them but want to publicize how the Falange in Mexico organized their transfer to the mainland and how after the end of the war had to overcome enormous difficulties to its Mexican volunteers.

Despite its brevity, the Lazarillo has managed to produce an extensive corpus of scholarship. Most of the scholarly treatises deal with the various literary aspects of the work. The richness of literature provided an impetus for people to find ways of recreating the memorable characters and events in other venues of artistic expression. Just as theatrical productions became platforms for representation of literary works, film allowed for mass audiences to experience visually the literary beauty. The Lazarillo was brought to the screen three times in the twentieth century. The first film, entitled El Lazarillo de...
