    Description: The creative instinct is out of the scholar system when we relegate creativity exclusively to the artistic subject. Limited hours a week for the class of art, plus a curriculum that lacks scientific rigor and it is based in artistic activities that imitate adult manners with no didactic guidance/advice, and teachers with no artistic nor creativity training. The knowledge of that Visual Language that we consume apparently with no effort not even previous prepara- tion, has to be achieved by experience. The point is to find the way to establish, in a didactic point of view, the coordination between scholar learning and its appreciation of personal expression.

However, by promoting this type of extra- curricular activities in order to maintain social cohesion, one should be careful not to prevent access to culture within the school system, which remains one of the main goals of public school. There is a risk of reducing the importance of arts classes and eliminating them from the school curriculum.

    Description: Using synchrotron X-ray diffraction and diamond anvil cells we performed in situ high-pressure studies of mullite-type phases of general formula ... and differing in the amount of oxygen vacancies: 2:1-mullite (x = 0.4), 3:2-mullite (x = 0.25), and sillimanite (x = 0). The structural stability of 2:1-mullite, 3:2-mullite, and sillimanite was investigated up to 40.8, 27.3, and 44.6 GPa, respectively, in quasi-hydrostatic conditions, at ambient temperature. This is the first report of a static high-pressure investigation of ... mullites. It was found that oxygen vacancies play a significant role in the compression mechanisms of the mullites by decreasing the mechanical stability of the phases with the number of vacancies. Elevated pressure leads to an irreversible amorphization above ~20 GPa for 2:1-mullite and above 22 GPa for 3:2-mullite. In sillimanite, only a partial amorphization is observed above 30 GPa.     Description: The net‐shaping capability in spark plasma sintering (SPS) of ultrahigh‐temperature ceramics has been explored in this study. The annular or ring‐like shape is considered here as the first step to a more complex geometry compared to a solid cylinder or disk. ZrC powders have been SPS processed in specially designed graphite tooling to achieve the annular shape geometry. Experimental runs have been carried out to determine the optimal processing parameters for producing highly dense ZrC specimens in this geometry. Finite‐element modeling framework has been constructed to determine the internal stress evolution, as well as densification, during the SPS of the annular‐shaped ZrC. The formulated processing schemes for ZrC have been adapted to process SiC/ZrB2 composite powder with the purpose of making tooling components for SPS applications. The applicability of the obtained composite SPS tooling has been evaluated at high temperature and high pressure associated with SPS regimes.
